Downes Associates will be participating in Engineers Week 2011. Engineers Week is a campaign held annually by Engineers Ireland to promote engineering as a career and the importance of the profession to Ireland. The week runs from February 14th to 20th with a different theme every day. On Wednesday 16th Open Day will see some of Ireland’s largest engineering employers throw open their doors and welcome the public in to learn more about the vital role engineers play in their local community.Volunteer Day on Thursday 17th February will be Engineers Ireland’s second national volunteer day and is a key day in Engineers Week 2011. On that day, it is planned that volunteer engineers, with the co-operation of their employers and local schools, will enter classes across the country and speak with students to improve their knowledge and appreciation of maths as well as tell them about the benefits of a career in engineering. |
