Principal Structural Engineer/ Associate Designate

Downes Associates is a civil and structural engineering consultancy that provides high quality engineering solutions to both public and private-sector clients. The company is currently experiencing a period of significant growth with an exciting and expanding pipeline of projects and has an immediate requirement for a Principal Structural Engineer to lead an Engineering team in Dublin.

Your new role

This is a an opportunity for you to make a significant contribution to a growing consultancy. The role will require a passion for first class service delivery, technical excellence, flexibility, implementation of best practice, mentoring staff, while continuing to develop and promote the company externally. You will report directly to the Managing Director and will run projects autonomously alongside Technical Directors within the company.

What you'll need to succeed

You must be a Chartered Structural Engineer with the Institution of Structural Engineers having a minimum 3 to 5 years post-chartership experience, with substantial building structure design experience and a track record in running projects. A strong track record of dealing directly with clients and participating as a key member of design team is essential. Experience with modern structural analysis and design software packages and involvement on a number of projects where BIM has been implemented would be an advantage.
